(Reuters) – Natural gas services provder Regency Energy Partners LP said it will spend about $450 million to build facilities for providing gas and condensate gathering services for a producer in the Eagle Ford shale of Texas.

In recent years there has been a lot of attention given to North American shale plays, as technological improvements (including horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing) have made it more commercially feasible to access the oil and gas trapped in the shale formations.

The Eagle Ford may soon become the biggest producing shale play in Texas, and possibly the whole of the United States, judging by a new analysis by Evaluate Energy of horizontal drilling data sourced from Smith Bits Stats.
All branches of the US military are very highly sought for positions with today’s leading energy companies. Oil and gas firms, in particular are aggressively recruiting, hiring and cross-training retired military servicemen and women, as well as reservists.
Ever-increasing demand for oil and gas globally puts the industry in a labor predicament. Companies must act now to fill vacancies, retain knowledge and skills from a graying workforce, as well as position the industry to continue pushing technological boundaries.

Plains All American Pipeline, L.P. (NYSE:PAA), announced that it has entered into a commitment to construct a new 130-mile crude oil and condensate pipeline, a marine terminal facility and 1.5 million barrels of storage capacity to service growing Eagle Ford production in south Texas.
